Privacy Policy for WellCal

We believe privacy is a right, not a feature. This policy explains exactly what information we collect, how we use it, and how you can control it — in plain English.

📅 Effective: April 12, 2026 🔄 Last Updated: April 12, 2026 🌐 Applies to: mywellcal.com

Information We Collect

WellCal collects only the minimum information necessary to operate the website and improve your experience. We do not require account creation and we do not store the health data you enter into our calculators.

⚙️

Calculator Inputs

All health values you enter (age, weight, height, etc.) are processed locally in your browser. They are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

📊

Usage Data

We automatically receive standard web server logs: IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URLs, and timestamps. This data is used for analytics and security.

✉️

Contact Information

If you email us or sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address and any information you choose to include in your message.

🍪

Cookie Data

Cookies and similar technologies are used by us and our advertising partners (including Google) to personalise content and measure performance. See Section 3.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To deliver, maintain, and improve the WellCal website and its free calculators.
  • To analyse how visitors use our site so we can optimise content and performance.
  • To serve relevant, interest-based advertisements through Google AdSense (see Section 4).
  • To respond to emails, support requests, or newsletter subscriptions you initiate.
  • To comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
  • To protect the security and integrity of our website and prevent abuse.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do not build personal health profiles of our users.

Google AdSense & Advertising

WellCal uses Google AdSense, an advertising service provided by Google LLC ("Google"), to display advertisements on our website. This section explains exactly how Google advertising works on our site and what that means for you.

Important Disclosure: Google AdSense may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to WellCal and other websites. This includes the use of the DoubleClick cookie.

How Google AdSense Works on WellCal:

  • Google uses cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our site and to other websites on the internet.
  • Google's use of the DoubleClick cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to WellCal and/or other websites on the internet.
  • Ad personalisation relies on data that Google holds about you, not data we hold. Our calculators never send your health inputs to Google.
  • Google may combine data from our site with data from your Google account (if you are signed in) for ad personalisation purposes, subject to Google's own privacy policy.
Opt-Out Notice: Users may opt out of personalised advertising by Google by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices or www.youronlinechoices.com.

For full details on how Google collects and processes data in connection with AdSense, please review Google's Privacy Policy and Google's advertising FAQ.

Non-Personalised Ads: Where required by applicable law (for example, for users in the European Economic Area or the UK), WellCal serves non-personalised ads to users who have not consented to personalised advertising.

Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at hello@mywellcal.com and we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

If you are under 18, we strongly recommend consulting a parent, guardian, or licensed healthcare professional before using any health calculator tool, as results may not account for the unique health needs of minors.

Data Security

We take the security of your information seriously and implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers (HTTPS).
  • Regular security reviews and updates of our website infrastructure.
  • Restricted access to any personal data we hold (such as email subscriber lists) to authorised personnel only.
  • Client-side computation of all calculator inputs, meaning your health data is never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

While we take all reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information transmitted to or from WellCal.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
  • Post a notice on the WellCal homepage for a reasonable period following the update.
  • Where required by law, notify affected users directly (e.g., via email if you have subscribed to our newsletter).

Your continued use of WellCal after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of those changes. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
